Finch Nobles was terribly burned as a child, and as a result she hides from most of society. But she’s welcome in the graveyard she passionately tends, where the dead – including her beloved parents and an always-squalling baby – speak to her, telling the tales that will eventually allow them to progress along the path they must take. When a local eccentric is buried in the cemetery, however, everything – including the dynamics of the town just outside the graveyard gates – is changed, and Finch finds herself forced to allow living beings into her life, and let the dead follow their own road.
