Tempest is approached by two leaders of the Whitstable Rider’s Motorcycle Club to investigate the disappearances of two members. However, Amanda is resolutely opposed to any involvement with the gang and actually argues with one of them — Bear — in the Blue Moon lobby, recalling she arrested him while she was still on the police force. However, Tempest takes the case, intrigued by the fact the bikers believe a fellow motorcycle gang composed entirely of werewolves, the Herne Bay Howlers, is responsible for the deaths. What Tempest and Big Ben encounter is definitely strange –as is the head of Herne Bay’s law enforcement, Chief Inspector Brite — but are the bikers really the famed creatures of the full moon? Tempest will have a hairy time discovering the truth, including the reason behind Amanda’s anger.
